From Enrollment to Completion: Exploring Noncredit Time to Completion

North Orange Continuing Education's (NOCE) Research team explores time to completion for noncredit programs. They will share their methodology and preliminary findings on an exploration of time to completion for noncredit high school diplomas and certificates. Participants will learn about the unique challenges of noncredit pathways and their impact on time to completion including topics such as course repeatability and the open entry/open exit nature of noncredit courses.

Tips and practices to increase student retention, persistence and paired scores

We will review strategies and the model that helped our program increase our paired scores to become top 3 in our region. The presentation will speak about strategies used in the classroom, clerical, administrators and the whole team at SAS to encourage students to persist and for students to consider the CASAS assessment an ally. Grossmont Adult Education (GAE) has developed an IET model that allows EL instructors to provide language literacy and fluency instruction to students across multiple CTE healthcare training programs by focusing on aligned CTE Anchor Standards and COAPPS. This model allows access to EL support for a much larger student population providing instruction in class, individually, and through the Canvas Learning Management System.

Contra Costa Workforce Collaborative: Building Regional Workforce Development Partnerships
