We look at some formative assessment tools that participants can use during class to help determine where students are and how to help learners as they work with lesson materials. We also consider using AI tools to create formative assessments. Formative assessment tools include poll and survey tools, tools to present and assess simultaneously, classic tools like Kahoot and Quizlet, and exit tickets. Attendees will practice and understand how to use these tools in the classroom.

This presentation explores the collaborative efforts of the Rio Hondo Region Adult Education Consortium in organizing "Job-Alike" events. These gatherings unite staff members with similar roles, fostering peer learning and professional development. Apple Valley Adult School in Collaboration with Victor Valley College has increased enrollments and outcomes for both institutions. We took a look at students' needs and were able to increase ESL and CTE programs for our students. Facilities use agreements and data sharing have helped both programs to grow and build capacity.

Supporting new CTE instructors is crucial for their success and the success of their students. This session will explore best practices, including mentorship, professional development, and inclusive teaching strategies. Attendees will also learn about the unique challenges faced by CTE instructors in California.
