Current trends and national data suggest that Western civilization is in decline or free fall, depending on the topic. The good news is that citizens believe educators will be the ones to turn it around. If we want to transform the system, then we have to start with transforming our beliefs about the system. Fierce Mustang Media at San Joaquin Delta College is a content creation and media production firm focused on community projects. The media group is made up of a majority of adult learners who do flexible internships with intent on reducing the brain drain in Stockton and San Joaquin County.

Tips and practices to increase student retention, persistence and paired scores

We will review strategies and the model that helped our program increase our paired scores to become top 3 in our region. The presentation will speak about strategies used in the classroom, clerical, administrators and the whole team at SAS to encourage students to persist and for students to consider the CASAS assessment an ally. We will also discuss the use of CASAS and data to make data-based lessons and decisions.
