EL Civics Civic Objectives and Additional Assessment Plans (COAAPs) can now be used with great success with ABE, ASE and CTE students. COAAPs are used for the instruction and assessment of real-life tasks such as completing a job application or consulting with a school counselor. CAEP agencies are encouraged to implement COAAPs in order to achieve Immigrant Integration (I-3) outcomes for ESL, ABE, ASE and CTE learners. North Orange Continuing Education's (NOCE) Research team explores time to completion for noncredit programs. They will share their methodology and preliminary findings on an exploration of time to completion for noncredit high school diplomas and certificates. Participants will learn about the unique challenges of noncredit pathways and their impact on time to completion including topics such as course repeatability and the open entry/open exit nature of noncredit courses.
