Apple Valley Adult School in Collaboration with Victor Valley College has increased enrollments and outcomes for both institutions. We took a look at students' needs and were able to increase ESL and CTE programs for our students. Facilities use agreements and data sharing have helped both programs to grow and build capacity.

How Can teachers ensure that the knowledge and skill/s from the CCRS reading standards are explicitly taught and integrated with a text? This session will introduce participants to a generic reading lesson plan in which teachers can collaboratively design a lesson and apply it to any CCRS Reading Anchor Standard with any text. Victor Valley College is growing in admissions and our classes are offered at three different locations. Our counselors are also located on the opposite side of campus. Because of our wide reach, we sometimes have a challenge knowing the phase in which the student may be in. Also, the ESL CTE program is getting developed. In this presentation we describe the wins and challenges of partnering with Adult Schools and transitioning adult students into college adult ed & collegiate level programs.
