We look at some formative assessment tools that participants can use during class to help determine where students are and how to help learners as they work with lesson materials. We also consider using AI tools to create formative assessments. Formative assessment tools include poll and survey tools, tools to present and assess simultaneously, classic tools like Kahoot and Quizlet, and exit tickets. Attendees will practice and understand how to use these tools in the classroom.

The struggle is real! Student retention is one of the most critical challenges in adult education. When attendance is down, student progress slows, and educator frustration grows. The new carryover legislation will be wrapping up it's first year in September 2024. This workshop will provide an update on how many CAEP regional consortia have exceeded the 20% threshold in Year 1, and how many members have exceeded their consortium-determined threshold for Year 1. What does this mean? What is the follow-up steps?

This session will provide an overview of models with a focus on entry level healthcare careers, specifically Pharmacy Technician, Certified Billing and Coding Specialist, Certified Medical Administration Assistant, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant as the fastest growing career pathways in the country.

This proposal showcases the collaborative efforts between the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) and the San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) in fostering inter-agency transitions. The presentation focuses on the development and utilization of data dashboards to track inter-agency transitions from the SDUSD Adult High School Diploma Program to SDCCE noncredit college programs.
