Learning Together as a Consortium Through Job-Alike Events

k12 Adult School Leverages Community College partnership to expand classes and increase payment points .

Apple Valley Adult School in Collaboration with Victor Valley College has increased enrollments and outcomes for both institutions. We took a look at students' needs and were able to increase ESL and CTE programs for our students. Facilities use agreements and data sharing have helped both programs to grow and build capacity.

Supporting New CTE Teachers in the Classroom

This session will explore best practices, including mentorship, professional development, and inclusive teaching strategies. Attendees will also learn about the unique challenges faced by CTE instructors in California.

Creating Powerful Workforce Development Partnerships and Increasing WIOA Title I Funds for Your Agency

California Ed Code 84906 requires members of CAEP consortia to create a Three-Year Plan and Annual Plan in order to receive CAEP funds and these plans should align with regional plans created by workforce development agencies pursuant to the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. This presentation will give clear, actionable items to foster powerful partnerships with WIOA workforce development agencies and increase Title I funding for your member schools.

Canva™ is a free online graphic design tool with AI embedded features that can be used to create social media posts, presentations, videos, logos and more. MagicSchool.AI is an online program with 60+ AI tools for educators to use to create assessments, rubrics, lesson plans, and more. Perplexity.AI is an upgraded version of Google search. If you're tired of having to click each link from a search, Perplexity.AI is for you.

Empowering Immigrants and Refugees for Career Success: A Collaborative Community Partnership CTE Bridge Program between Laney College ESOL Department and Lao Family Community Development (LFCD)

Visualizing a pathway to achieve career goals seems overwhelming for many immigrants and refugees. The collaborative Laney College and LFCD Career Readiness Bridge Program is a non-credit, eight-week, four-day per week, six-hour per day program that provides a holistic approach to promoting students’ growth and well-being. This program helps to bridge the gap between essential skills training and real-world employment opportunities.

Supporting Learner Transition - Victor Valley College Adult Education

Victor Valley College is growing in admissions and our classes are offered at three different locations. Our counselors are also located on the opposite side of campus. Because of our wide reach, we sometimes have a challenge knowing the phase in which the student may be in. Also, the ESL CTE program is getting developed. In this presentation we describe the wins and challenges of partnering with Adult Schools and transitioning adult students into college adult ed & collegiate level programs.

Welcoming English Language Learners into Healthcare Occupations: How South Orange County Regional Consortium designed and implemented five comprehensive integrated ELL Healthcare Pathway programs with over 90 percent completion rate in one semester

The SOCRC ELL Healthcare Pathway team will share how they put together a comprehensive plan to recruit students, train instructors, develop a support team and implement five distinct ELL integrated health care career programs in less than one semester. They will discuss how they were able to work across agencies to support students and instructors throughout the first cohort term and resolve issues as a team. The presentation will culminate with the regional celebration of student success.

Helping Adult Students validate their high school and Foreign degrees

This group of students are lawyers, law professors, head of surgeries, doctors, surgeons, teachers, nurses among other high demand professions. This presentation will share the process Salinas Adult School has developed to help these students validate their degrees and find employment.

Fresno City College – Building Multiple On-Ramps for Adult School Students. We’re not just taking referrals anymore, we’re living on our adult school campuses!

Over the past several years, Fresno City College and its district, SCCCD, have been making progress in developing and strengthening partnerships with local adult schools. This session will discuss the various opportunities that are being created for adult school students that can help them get a jump start on their college education. Academic Year 2023-24 saw the peak of our partnership and it’s only a preview of what is to come!

This presentation will explore the transformative impact of SB554 and the DARTE (Directing Adults onto the Right TrAC for Employment) Learning Community at San Joaquin Delta College. SB554 provides a legislative framework allowing adult school students to concurrently enroll in community college courses, thereby accelerating their educational and career trajectories. The DARTE program is a pioneering initiative designed to leverage this opportunity, creating equitable pathways for adults.
