Visualizing a pathway to achieve career goals seems overwhelming for many immigrants and refugees. The collaborative Laney College and LFCD Career Readiness Bridge Program is a non-credit, eight-week, four-day per week, six-hour per day program that provides a holistic approach to promoting students’ growth and well-being. Victor Valley College is growing in admissions and our classes are offered at three different locations. Our counselors are also located on the opposite side of campus. Because of our wide reach, we sometimes have a challenge knowing the phase in which the student may be in. Also, the ESL CTE program is getting developed. In this presentation we describe the wins and challenges of partnering with Adult Schools and transitioning adult students into college adult ed & collegiate level programs.
