EL Civics Civic Objectives and Additional Assessment Plans (COAAPs) can now be used with great success with ABE, ASE and CTE students. COAAPs are used for the instruction and assessment of real-life tasks such as completing a job application or consulting with a school counselor. CAEP agencies are encouraged to implement COAAPs in order to achieve Immigrant Integration (I-3) outcomes for ESL, ABE, ASE and CTE learners. Tech Tools for Formative Assessment

We look at some formative assessment tools that participants can use during class to help determine where students are and how to help learners as they work with lesson materials. We also consider using AI tools to create formative assessments. Formative assessment tools include poll and survey tools, tools to present and assess simultaneously, classic tools like Kahoot and Quizlet, and exit tickets. Attendees will practice and understand how to use these tools in the classroom.
