Come and stop by our registration desk located on the lower level across from the conference center parking elevators. We will be open early on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. After registering, please proceed to the Ballroom for our opening session, which includes a Welcome from CAEP Leadership and the CAEP Update beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Prepare yourself for the inaugural opening session! Join us in-person or virtually for an engaging kick-off featuring heartfelt greetings from our CAEP TAP Directors and CAEP Administrators. We're thrilled to welcome leaders from the California Community College Chancellor's Office and the California Department of Education! Don’t miss the CAEP Leadership as they share the latest State updates before we dive into our first session block.

Following the opening of the CAEP 2024 Summit, attendees will enjoy a break featuring light refreshments. This break is designed to refresh and energize participants as they prepare to engage in the first session block, complete check in if needed and it is setting the stage for a productive and insightful kick off to the Summit.

Building the Future: Workforce Development & Retention in Construction Careers

The construction industry is facing a critical labor shortage, projected to surpass 1 million workers by 2025, due to an aging workforce, a lack of skilled labor, impact to inclusion, and declining interest among younger generations, women, and minority groups. This session explores strategies for recruitment, retention, and development of diverse talent by partnering with community colleges, as a resource. Key topics include creating inclusive workplaces, continuous learning, and technology.
