This presentation explores the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on adult education, focusing on innovative technologies that enhance student-employer connections. We'll examine how AI personalizes learning experiences, streamlines administrative processes, and bridges the education-employment gap. Real-world case studies, including the successful deployment of apps in California adult schools, will demonstrate practical applications in advancing career outcomes for students.

We will review strategies and the model that helped our program increase our paired scores to become top 3 in our region. The presentation will speak about strategies used in the classroom, clerical, administrators and the whole team at SAS to encourage students to persist and for students to consider the CASAS assessment an ally. We will also discuss the use of CASAS and data to make data-based lessons and decisions.

We look at some formative assessment tools that participants can use during class to help determine where students are and how to help learners as they work with lesson materials. We also consider using AI tools to create formative assessments. Formative assessment tools include poll and survey tools, tools to present and assess simultaneously, classic tools like Kahoot and Quizlet, and exit tickets. Attendees will practice and understand how to use these tools in the classroom.

The struggle is real! Student retention is one of the most critical challenges in adult education. When attendance is down, student progress slows, and educator frustration grows. In this session, we will explore the problem but, more importantly, seek practical solutions. Utilizing the innovative research and hands-on experimentation of adult educators across the country, teachers and administrators will gain applicable learning strategies and engagement activities to keep students coming back.
