The struggle is real! Student retention is one of the most critical challenges in adult education. When attendance is down, student progress slows, and educator frustration grows. In this session, we will explore the problem but, more importantly, seek practical solutions. Integrated Education and Training (IET) models are an important program offering that meets the needs of diverse learners. This session will provide an overview of models with a focus on entry level healthcare careers, specifically Pharmacy Technician, Certified Billing and Coding Specialist, Certified Medical Administration Assistant, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant as the fastest growing career pathways in the country.

This proposal showcases the collaborative efforts between the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) and the San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) in fostering inter-agency transitions. The presentation focuses on the development and utilization of data dashboards to track inter-agency transitions from the SDUSD Adult High School Diploma Program to SDCCE noncredit college programs.
